How do you manage your projects

Any project coordinator works with four variables: expenditure, timing, time and producing a satisfactory result. Qualified project managers also try to make the organization of business processes better. Look at any project and you will see that it requires labour, finance and equipment to deliver end results. You may come across a lot of contributing factors that are very important for efficient project management. You can look through a few of such factors in the list below:

- Establishing goals and conducting analysis.

- Dealing with risk. Take any project and you will see that it has a lot of uncertainties that have to be accounted for.

- Choosing labor and equipment for the project.

- Having a clear idea about the product you wish to get on completion of the project.

- Controlling the project from the point of view of who is performing what and when.

- Managing adequate quality.

- Handling instability. Change happens. When you begin the project, you have to forsee how it will develop with time.

- Communicating with project stakeholders.

Traditional ways of running projects, such a pen and paper, can be used to manage most of these things. However, you get quite a few pluses if you decide to use project tracking software:

- Idividual jobs are smoothly assigned to dates and times. The length of work can be calculated by the program depending on the workload data. It is possible to set work time-tables for various employees. Tracking progress also becomes less of a problem.

- Managing several projects with different requirements. Productivity tracking software helps project managers to seea bigger picture and collect information on a number of projects.

- Critical path becomes nicely observable. The critical path is a critically relevant principle in project planning. Should an activity on this path take less or more time, the whole project is going to be touched by this change. Whereas other tasks that lie outside the critical path may last longer or shorter and not change the duration of the whole project.

- Allowing everybody involved know what is happening. Big projects require data exchanges. Productivity tracking software makes distribution of information easier than it has ever been before.

Should you every time choose task tracking software?

Project tracking solutions could not be suitable in 100 percent of all cases. The best time to use such software is when you work on a few large projects. It could be more appropriate to manage simple projects manually, so that there is no need to deal with large overhead connected with operating complicated programs.
